CLUB ANNOUNCEMENTS
Bowman Math Team Update

In February, the 3rd graders took their second Continental Math League test. Their combined score after two tests is 70/72, placing them in the top 12% in the country among 203 participating schools, and #2 in New England. Congratulations to Alison W., Connor G., Joy L., Lucas F., and Vedi G. for their perfect 6/6 on their tests.

The 4th graders took their fourth test in February. Their combined score after four tests is 122/144, placing them in the top 17% in the country and still #1 rank in New England. Congratulations to Deniz M. and Ida M. on their perfect 6/6 on their tests.

The 5th graders also took their fourth test in February. Their combined score after four tests is 110/144, placing them in the top 19% in the country and also still #1 rank in New England. Congratulations to Advait I. and Arthur B. on their perfect 6/6 on their tests.

The 4th and 5th grade tests (in the harder Pythagorean division) continue to be more challenging than in years past. Everyone is putting in great effort and should be proud of their accomplishments both in regular class and in the competitions. Each grade has just one more test to go in March!

SUPPORT OUR SCHOOL
Get Involved with the PTO!

As we look ahead to next year, the Bowman PTO is facing a critical moment. Many of our experienced parent volunteers will be graduating from Bowman this spring, leaving several key leadership roles unfilled.

Most urgently, we must fill the Co-President role on the Executive Board. Without a Co-President next year, the PTO’s ability to operate will be at risk. If we cannot build new leadership now, the Bowman PTO could cease to exist within the next two years.

The PTO is entirely volunteer-run. Without parents and guardians stepping forward, many of the events, programs, and community-building activities our families value simply won’t happen — either because there are no organizers to run them or because there is no fundraising to support them.

We currently have an urgent need for volunteers in the following roles:

  • Co-President (Executive Board) — critical leadership role

  • VP Curriculum (Executive Board)

  • VP Community (Executive Board)

  • Co-VPs Fundraising & Membership (Executive Board)

  • Fundraising Team

  • Event Planning Team

Taking on one of these roles helps to ensure that the programs and traditions our students love can continue for years to come.

You don’t need prior PTO experience, just a willingness to help and be part of our school community. Whether you can take on a leadership role, join the executive board, or help organize a single event, your involvement can make a real difference.

If you are interested or want to learn more about any of these roles, please reach out. We would love to talk with you about how you can help keep the Bowman PTO strong.

CORI Check Reminder

Please remember that it is district policy that anyone who volunteers (lunch, Big Backyard, library, Room Helpers, PTO events, etc) in our school must have a CORI check completed by Lexington Public Schools. CORI checks are good for 3 years.

For any questions regarding the CORI check, please email Mrs. Ashness (cashness@lexingtonma.org) or Mrs. Barnes (bbarnes@lexingtonma.org) in our Main Office. Do your CORI check now so you do not miss the fun - this can take up to 30 days!

MARCH RECAP

3rd Annual Student Entrepreneur Marketplace

We were incredibly impressed by the imagination, dedication, and hard work shown by our young entrepreneurs! The marketplace was full of a variety of unique products, making it a wonderful experience for everyone who attended. A heartfelt thank you to all who came out to support our aspiring business owners—and a special shout out to Natasha Zeb for organizing such a fantastic event and bringing it all together!

Spring Conferences Staff Appreciation

Our devoted & tireless Staff Appreciation team jumped straight from Valentine’s to Spring Conferences staff appreciation efforts. Thank you, thank you, and more thank you’s to Stephanie Roberts, Kelsey Collins, Terri Santos and Natasha Zeb for filling our teacher’s hearts and stomachs through 2 weeks of parent-teacher conference days! We see you and appreciate everything you do!

Note to our PTO community, if you’d like to join the Staff Appreciation team, please email them at staffappreciation@bowmanpto.org. More hands make less work, especially for this team that works so hard for us throughout the academic year.

Eid Mubarak!

In celebration of Eid, some Bowman families came together on their own to organize a special brunch for our Bowman teachers and staff. This was a way for them to share the joy of Eid and express appreciation for the dedication and care our educators showed to support fasting students during Ramadan every day.
