Elementary Caregiver Technology Presentation Wednesday, May 6 from 7:00–8:00 PM (Virtual) We’re pleased to share a special event for our elementary school communities. On Wednesday, May 6 from 7:00–8:00 PM, Tom Martellone, Director of Innovation and Instructional Technology for Lexington Public Schools, will lead a virtual presentation on technology use in LPS.
In his role, Tom oversees how technology is implemented across the district, including classroom tools, digital learning, and policies that support student use of technology. This session is designed to help caregivers better understand how technology is used in our schools and what it means for students’ learning and day-to-day experiences. It will also offer practical guidance on how families can support healthy and effective technology use at home. Here is more information on Lexington's technology - https://www.lexingtonma.org/technology The presentation will run about 60 minutes and will include time for questions and answers. This session was previously shared with another Lexington elementary school community and was well received. We encourage families to attend this informative and timely discussion. Bowman Field Day Wednesday, June 3rd (rain date Wednesday, June 10th) Our annual Field Day is slated for Wednesday, June 3rd. For field day, each grade level takes a turn outside, rotating through stations of organized games and team building activities. Our Physical Education Teacher, Mr. Spiller designs the stations and orchestrates the day. We rely heavily on parent/caregiver volunteers and there are plenty of spots in which help is needed. Sign up here to volunteer for Field Day 2026! We are also planning a cook-out lunch and hired a DJ to add to the fun.

Bowman PTO Co-President Needed! As we look ahead to next year, the Bowman PTO is facing a critical moment. Many of our experienced parent volunteers will be graduating from Bowman this spring, leaving several key leadership roles unfilled. Most urgently, we must fill the Co-President role on the Executive Board. Without a Co-President next year, the PTO’s ability to operate will be at risk. If we cannot build new leadership now, the Bowman PTO could cease to exist within the next two years. The PTO is entirely volunteer-run. Without parents and guardians stepping forward, many of the events, programs, and community-building activities our families value simply won’t happen — either because there are no organizers to run them or because there is no fundraising to support them.
The PTO is entirely volunteer-run. Without parents and guardians stepping forward, many of the events, programs, and community-building activities our families value simply won’t happen — either because there are no organizers to run them or because there is no fundraising to support them. We currently have an urgent need for volunteers in the following roles: Co-President (Executive Board) — critical leadership role VP Curriculum (Executive Board) VP Community (Executive Board) Co-VPs Fundraising & Membership (Executive Board) Fundraising Team Event Planning Team
Taking on one of these roles helps to ensure that the programs and traditions our students love can continue for years to come. You don’t need prior PTO experience, just a willingness to help and be part of our school community. Whether you can take on a leadership role, join the executive board, or help organize a single event, your involvement can make a real difference. If you are interested or want to learn more about any of these roles, please reach out. We would love to talk with you about how you can help keep the Bowman PTO strong. Interested? Sign up to volunteer in a specific area or email president@bowmanpto.org with questions. |
CORI Check Reminder Please remember that it is district policy that anyone who volunteers (lunch, Big Backyard, library, Room Helpers, PTO events, etc) in our school must have a CORI check completed by Lexington Public Schools. CORI checks are good for 3 years. For any questions regarding the CORI check, please email Mrs. Ashness (cashness@lexingtonma.org) or Mrs. Barnes (bbarnes@lexingtonma.org) in our Main Office. Do your CORI check now so you do not miss the fun - this can take up to 30 days! |
Bowman Caregiver Connect Thank you to those who joined us at Galaray House in April! It was wonderful to have time to slow down, meet, and chat with other Bowman parents and caregivers! We look forward to hosting and growing more of these opportunities! |

| BIKE SAFETY IN LEXINGTON Warm weather means more kids out on bikes! The town has asked for our help in reminding our students of the importance of bike safety in Lexington Center. Please remember: all bikes must be WALKED on the sidewalk in the town center. In addition, bikes are not allowed on the track (the tires can damage the surface). Thank you for sharing these rules with your children so they can enjoy their biking while remaining safe and respectful of our community. |
